Here's a stunning near mint program coupled with a rare, EX+ ticket stub from the 8th NHL All-Star Game, played October 2, 1954 at the Detroit Olympia. The mighty Red Wings, Stanley Cup champions who would repeat at year end, were up against an All Star team featuring ten future Hall of Famers, including the core of the Montreal Canadiens team that would soon take their turn at dominating the League. It was the goaltenders, however, who were the story of evening; as Terry Sawchuk for Detroit and the Harry Lumley/Al Rollins team for the All-Stars continually stymied the shooters in what would end up a 2-2 tie. Gordie Howe and Alex Delvecchio had staked the Red Wings to a 2-0 lead after the 1st period before the All-Stars knotted it up in the 2nd, and the goalies took over from there. This was the eighth straight All-Star Game appearance for both Maurice Richard and Ted Lindsay.
