Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2013
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/18/2013
After three games on the road to start their first NHL season, the Philadelphia Flyers finally appeared before their home fans at the Spectrum on October 19, 1967; facing the Pittsburgh Penguins. The first game in Philadelphia also produced the team's first ever shutout, as Doug Favell stopped 17 shots and Bill Sutherland netted the winner early in the 3rd period of a 1-0 Flyers win. The offered program for this milestone game is in stunning near mint condition, and includes an ultra-scarce ticket stub that grades a solid EX+. As nice a set as could be hoped for from the home debut of this proud franchise.
