Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2013

Down 1-0 in the 3rd period of Game Four of the 1969 Stanley Cup Finals, the Montreal Canadiens got a tying goal from Ted Harris and the winner from John Ferguson to sweep the St. Louis Blues, and the Finals, for the second straight year. Goalie Rogie Vachon held the Blues to just three goals in four games as Montreal captured its 16th Stanley Cup, and fourth in five years. This complete game program from the deciding game, played May 4, 1969 at the Arena in St. Louis, is in sharp EX condition, and loaded with player and action photos. A fascinating footnote from the centerfold lineups - Tony Esposito is listed as Montreal's third goaltender, wearing the #29 Ken Dryden would make famous two years later. Esposito would get no playoff action in his brief initial stint with the Canadiens, but see his name engraved on the Stanley Cup, before beginning his stellar (but Cup-less) career with the Chicago Blackhawks in record setting fashion the following season.
