The Toronto Maple Leafs completed a four game sweep of the 1948 Stanley Cup Finals with an impressive 7-2 win over the Detroit Red Wings on April 14th of that year, before a packed house at the Detroit Olympia. Leaf captain Syl Apps scored a goal in the victory, then hoisted the Cup in what was to be the last game of his distinguished career. By contrast, this was the first trip to the Finals for 19 year old Gordie Howe, in just his second NHL season. Presented here are both a program and ticket stub from that decisive Game Four. The program, featuring the Wings' iconic manager Jack Adams on its cover, is complete and in very nice EX+ condition; while the ticket stub has tape residue at the top, but is otherwise EX+.
