Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2013

Here's a delightful scrapbook put together by a New York fan during the 1937-38 NHL playoffs, containing 36 pages of newspaper photos showing game action from all three rounds, plus a few pages of related notes. Beginning with an opening round match-up between the hometown Rangers and Americans (which saw the Americans stun their NY rivals with an overtime winner in the deciding game); the scrapbook also covers the second round, three game series between the Americans and the Chicago Black Hawks, and the Stanley Cup Finals between the Hawks and the Toronto Maple Leafs. Chicago's ultimate Cup victory remains one of the biggest upsets in NHL history, as the Black Hawks had limped into the playoffs with a 14-25-11 record, while the Leafs had won their Division and boasted the League's two top scorers in Syl Apps and Gordie Drillon. The scrapbook is in solid VG condition, with cover wear and a little spine separation - interior pages are clean.
