Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2013
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/18/2013
This small scrapbook, purportedly the original property of a newspaper reporter but more likely assembled by a young fan, has 120 pages loaded with box scores from the second half of the 1933-34 NHL season plus playoffs; and the first two-thirds of 1934-35. Highlights include: Eddie Shore returning from his suspension for the Ace Bailey incident to score two goals, the Ace Bailey Benefit (1st All Star) game, the last NHL game in Ottawa for 58 years, the Chicago Black Hawks win the Stanley Cup (Charlie Gardiner's last game), the St. Louis Eagles 1st game and win, and Howie Morenz debuts as a Black Hawk. While there are tears to the outside cover edges, the interior pages are clean and solidly bound (one page is slightly loose). Autographs are also scattered throughout, but can't be verified as authentic.
