Another of #99's greatest feats occurred during the 1983-84 season, his 5th in the NHL. Starting on opening night with a goal and an assist in a 5-4 home win vs. the Toronto Maple Leafs, Wayne Gretzky scored at least one point in a record 51 straight games, before the streak finally came to an end on January 28, 1984 against the Los Angeles Kings. During those 51 games he scored an amazing 61 goals and 92 assists for 153 points, an average of three points per game. Twice during the streak he tallied eight points in a single game, and he had his 100th point by game #34! Offered here is a crisp, EX+ (light creases, clean back) ticket stub from the record-setting 51st game of the streak, played January 27th in Edmonton vs. the New Jersey Devils; in which Gretzky scored a goal in a 3-3 tie. Also included are the first two pages of the sports section of the Edmonton Journal from January 29, 1984, the day after the scoring streak ended, with Gretzky pictured and the scoring streak summarized.
