Three games into his rookie season, Wayne Gretzky scored the first of his record 894 NHL goals; beating Vancouver goalie Glen Hanlon on a power play at 18:51 of the 3rd period to give his team a 4-4 tie with the Canucks. The game was played on October 14, 1979 before a capacity crowd at the Northlands Coliseum in Edmonton, and Gretzky, who also tallied an earlier assist, was named the 3rd Star; drawing huge applause from the home fans. The offered program from this historic game is complete and in sharp EX/NM condition, with the score sheet neatly filled out, including Gretzky's momentous tally. Also included is the scarce ticket stub, in nice EX+ shape with two tiny staple holes.
