Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2013
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/18/2013
The game of hockey is pretty much all about the puck, with these six recalling the wonderful Original Six era and combining for a formidable, thought-provoking display. The Red Wings puck is among the earliest (1958-62, with "Made In U.S.A." on the back logo, like the Rangers and Hawks), and is the nicest in our eyes, given the three chips/slices on the back, indicating game use! New York (two nail holes on the side), and Chicago (four holes), do not have the black outline on the reverse logo, with the Maple Leafs and Bruins featuring small chips in the team logos and light game use in the case of Boston. The latter two (1962-64), do not have the Made in USA notation. The steller Canadiens biscuit is actually from the first year of expansion and is a Converse affair, also with rubber-crested logos front and back. You click, you score!
