Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2013
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/18/2013
Fascinating and beautifully-detailed original team photo of the 1927-28 Ottawa Senators depicts King Clancy and Alec Connell's reigning Stanley Cup champion crew in their "Worlds Champs 1926-27" barber-pole jerseys. Fellow HOFers pictured include George "Buck" Boucher, Harry "Punch" Broadbent, Cy Denneny and Frank Nighbor, along with coach Dave Gill and Frank Finnigan, whose number 8 was retired by the modern Senators. Wonderfully-preserved original 5 1/2" x 9 1/2" print is displayed on its vintage "The Hands Studios, Ottawa" gray matte, mounted in a 10 3/4" x 14 3/4" black frame. Players in the front row, left to right, are Clancy, Boucher, Broadbent, Connell, Denneny and Nighbor. Gill is at the far left of the back row along with, left to right, Kilrea, Halliday, Smith, trainer, Grosvenor, Chouinard and Finnigan.
