Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2013
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/18/2013
Magnificent gold and diamond junior hockey memento commemorates the Memorial Cup championship won by the 1972-73 Toronto Marlboros, a team that included Mark and Marty Howe, team scoring leader Wayne Dillon, Bruce Boudreau, Bob Dailey and goalie Mike Palmateer. The ring, (approx. 17 grams), features a spectacular diamond set in the tableau, encircled by "Memorial Cup Champions". The team's name, logo and "1973" are displayed in relief on one shank, while on the other is an image of the trophy emblematic of Canadian junior hockey supremacy. The interior of the size 11 band is stamped "10K". Lovely detail on this beautifully-preserved keepsake, although we cannot determine which player/executive was the recipient of it. Very light scratches and, upon magnification, small dings are visible. Recalling another successful season of Toronto's beloved Marlies!
