Wayne Gretzky recorded 17 points with the Edmonton Oilers on the carbon copies of the official NHL Score Sheets for eight games played against the Montreal Canadiens, from 1982-85. This fantastic collection of NHL game documents from those Oilers-Habs encounters in Edmonton and Montreal includes three games each from both 1982-83 and 1983-84, and two games from 1984-85. Other NHL carbon copies for each of the eight games include the Official Report of Match, Penalty Record and Official Statistics of Game. Great original stats from the NHL's most prolific scorer at the peak of his immense talent! Gretzky set a then-NHL record of 12 shorthanded goals in one season with his first of two goals in the March 4, 1984 game against Montreal, a 6-1 win for the Oilers at the Forum. The Score Sheet mistakenly indicates that Edmonton had six, rather than five, players on the ice when Gretzky scored 9:58 into the first period. The Official Statistics of Game report correctly shows that the Oilers had four skaters on the ice, including Kurri, who assisted on Gretzky’s first goal of the game.
Gretzky totaled seven goals and 10 assists for 17 points with the Oilers over the course of these eight games against the Canadiens.
