Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2013

Glen Sather's 1970-71 NHL player's contract is signed by two other members of the Hall of Fame. The deal called for the Pittsburgh Penguins forward to earn a salary of $22,000 and included numerous bonus clauses, both individual and team-related. Fellow HOFer Red Kelly, Sather, who entered the Hall as a builder, and Jack Riley have also signed in blue ballpoint at the bottom of the contract. Clarence Campbell makes it three HOF autographs with his blue ballpoint signature as NHL president on the front below the Central Registry time stamp. Kelly signed “Leonard P. Kelly” in his capacity as Penguins GM on the contract dated October 7, 1970;
Campbell’s red initials are on a 1964 loan agreement that saw the AHL Pittsburgh Hornets loan Sather to the Memphis Wings, his first pro team. The loan agreement is signed by four in ballpoint, including Memphis head coach Eddie Bush, who played 26 games with the Detroit Red Wings in the late 1930s and early 1940s.
