This splendid Toronto Maple Leafs jacket is a blue distressed leather creation by Mitchell & Ness that honors the dawn of the greatest era in team history. “1939-1940 Toronto Maple Leafs” is embroidered inside the bottom left front of this awesome zipper-front jacket. The Leafs, who won their first Stanley Cup in 1932, entered the 1940s with a six-game loss to the New York Rangers in the finals. It was the sixth time in eight years that the Buds lost in the Stanley Cup finals. The 1940s brought saw the Leafs win the Cup five times as they became the first team to win three straight titles from 1947-49. Two years later, Bill Barilko’s historic overtime goal gave the Leafs their seventh Cup. Needless to say, the Leafs’ 1939-40 campaign marked a pivotal time in team history. Gorgeous black lining with “Mitchell & Ness” screened logo throughout has Mitchell & Ness NHL Vintage Hockey tagging and size 60 and Made in China flag tags in the back of the neck. Magnificent embroidered Maple Leafs team crest sits on the left breast in eye-popping blue and white. Blue and white stripes on the knit collar, tail, and cuffs, with the Mitchell & Ness logo embroidered in white thread on the right cuff. Made to look worn, this beauty remains in absolutely wonderful condition, all set for display, or better yet, to be worn with pride!
