Nifty pieces to display here include a seating plan of Madison Square Garden III (the third of four MSGs), with the 18" by 26" chart likely an in-house sheet, with black squares representing seats from which the entire "performance" could not be seen. With creases/fold lines, it is accompanied by dandy original artwork by Burris Jenkins of the Rangers' famous Bread Line of Frank Boucher and the Cook brothers. Lester Patrick artwork was done by Phil Berube in 1938, with the Rangers' "pilot" sizing up his team for the upcoming season. Another orginal artwork depicts Mrs. Mary Cassidy. The Bread Line artwork is approximately 16” by 22” and done when the trio’s time together came to an end, after close to a decade. The Lester Patrick artwork is 7” by 10-1/2”
Known as “MA” Cassidy, Mary looks to have been in charge of housekeeping at Madison Square Garden, with one of the captions reading “For 15 years she’s been cleaning up after you...at both Gardens.” Also on thick paper stock like the others, it measures 14” by 20” and is another neat piece of MSG history.
