Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2013
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/18/2013
Beginning with a Jan. 4, 1960-dated oversized shot of Jacques Plante wearing his first mask against the Rangers, along with a half-dozen showing his pretzel job while in action with the Rangers, this collection is loaded with action photos that will have Ranger and vintage photograph enthusiasts oohing and aahing. Many have newspaper or wire photo captions on the back, with crop lines at times appearing on the front. About half are from the 1960s, including over 50 oversized affairs, while the '70s produce most of the rest, with playoff images (Boston, Montreal) present. Harvey, Worsley, Fontinato in fight scenes, Bathgate, Ratelle, Gilbert, Hadfield, Giacomin, Park and, towards the end, John Davidson show up multiple times. Lots of goal mouth action means opponents Hall, Sawchuk, Bower, Hull, Orr and others. What fun the winning bidder will have with this splendid group.
