Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2013
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/18/2013
Eddie Shore and fellow Hub hockey legends Dit Clapper and Tiny Thompson are among the seven HOFers whose original autographs appear on this team-signed 1937-38 Boston Bruins mini stick. There are a total of 15 signatures along one side of the stick, including fellow HOFers Bauer, Weiland, Dumart and Cowley. This vintage souvenir mini stick, which has Turk Broda stamps on each side of the blade, measures 20" and has been nicely preserved for a 75-year-old piece. Shore signed in fountain pen across the blade. The others signed in pencil, while the Art Ross signature is a clubhouse example. Comes with a James Spence Authentication LOA. Deceased HOFers: Eddie Shore (dec. 1985), Dit Clapper (dec. 1978), Tiny Thompson (dec. 1981), Bobby Bauer (dec. 1964), Cooney Weiland (dec. 1985), Woody Dumart (dec. 2001) and Bill Cowley (dec. 1993);
Other notable 1937-38 Bruins: Gord Pettinger, Roy Goldsworthy, Jack Portland, Flash Hollett, Ray Getliffe and Charlie Sands.
There are some nicks on the edge of the shaft, cracks on the bottom side at the top, and a nail hole in the end of the toe which does not affect the signatures.
