Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2013
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/18/2013
Glorious red mesh 1983-84 Detroit Red Wings gamer worn by defenceman John Barrett displays solid team repairs on the cuffs. The left sleeve has two big detailed sewing fixes, one round and one oval. There is another round repair on the right cuff and a crescent-shaped thread fix above it with a couple of burn holes around it. Barrett is spelled out in white twill letters sewn directly onto the jersey, arched across the upper back. There is no tagging in the neck, though this beauty with a double cloth fight strap measures out to a size 52. The embroidered CCM logo sewn on the rear tail has the registered symbol on the upper right corner. The green mark in the white band on the lower left side is visible on Barrett’s 1984-85 O-Pee-Chee hockey card, though it is not clear enough to call it a definitive photo-match. There is a bit of red bleeding in the bottom of the white twill “3” sewn on the back.
