Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2013

A special piece of Toronto Maple Leafs history is this astonishing near mint program from the night some 50 years ago (Thursday, April 18) when the Leafs made it two consecutive Stanley Cup titles with a 3-1 victory over the Red Wings. Eddie Shack deflected-in the Cup-winner at 13:28 of the third, with Dave Keon opening the scoring shorthanded in the first and clinching things with an empty-netter. Picturing the legendary Tim Horton on the cover, the gorgeous 84-page publication is packed with entertaining articles, photos and information in classy Leafs' style - they really did things up nicely! Free of any unsightly flaws, this historic high grade pub will delight. A crowd of 14,403 witnessed the game, with Detroit knotting the score 1-1 early in the second period as Howe and Pronovost assisted on a Delvecchio goal. Hall of Fame goalies Johnny Bower and Terry Sawchuk were at opposite ends of the rink, with Toronto having a 28-27 shots on net advantage and winning the series four games to one after having taken care of Montreal in the semi-finals, also in five games.
