Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2013
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/18/2013
The 1914 Stanley Cup Toronto Blueshirts and National Hockey Association rivals Quebec Bulldogs are the featured teams in this awesome and very rare early hockey program from Toronto's Arena Gardens. This original four-page affair from Toronto's 1913-14 championship season features the line-ups of both squads in the centerfold. HOFers listed in the line-ups include Holmes, Marshall, Davidson, Walker, Cully Wilson and Cameron for Toronto, and Moran, Hall, Smith, Malone and Crawford for Quebec. Toronto beat out the Montreal Canadiens to claim the NHA title and then swept Victoria in three straight to claim the city's first Stanley Cup. Cardboard-like stock program has a small piece torn off the bottom right corner and a vertical fold crease in the middle, and has otherwise been preserved in marvelous condition as it approaches its 100th anniversary! Holmes, Marshall, Davidson, Walker, Foyston and Cully Wilson are listed for Toronto along with spares Cameron, McGiffen, Claude Wilson and Corbeau;
Moran, Mummery, Hall, Smith, Malone and Marks are featured in Quebec’s starting lineup with Crawford, Prodgers and Richardson listed as spares.
