Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2013

Gorgeous Stanley Cup was presented to goalie Michel Plasse as a member of the 1972-73 champion Montreal Canadiens. The Canadiens were the class of the NHL during the regular season and they roared through the playoffs on the way to their 18th Cup. After disposing of the pesky Sabres in six games and the up-and-coming Flyers in five, the Habs beat the Black Hawks in a six-game final with Yvan Cournoyer scoring the Cup-winner. Featuring 14 members of the Hall of Fame, the names of the men who brought another Stanley Cup parade to Montreal are engraved on the barrel of this tantalizing trophy. Guy Lafleur, Larry Robinson, Steve Shutt and Scotty Bowman are there for the first time, with Plasse, who backed up Ken Dryden, among the supporting cast. The silver-plated trophy has acquired a wonderful patina and stands 13" tall with the green felt intact on the bottom of the black wood base. Originally obtained from the late Michel Plasse, this magnificent Stanley Cup trophy comes with a Classic Auctions LOA. The three small nails at the bottom of the trophy are missing. The trophy has a bit of tarnish and minimal silver loss.
