Jacques Plante and the Canadiens had won their first Stanley Cup of a record five straight titles when they came to agreement on the goaltending legend's contract for the 1956-57 campaign. Signed on September 26, 1956, the deal called for a salary of $10,500. He did not collect on the $500 bonus clause for a first-place finish, but did cash in a pair of $1,000 bonuses for winning the Vezina Trophy and being named an All-Star. This double-sided, one-page document features a nice flowing Plante ballpoint signature on the back, below that of William Northey (d.1963), who signed in fountain pen ink. NHL president Clarence Campbell (d.1984) signed the front in bold fountain pen making it three HOF signatures!
