Guy Lafleur's legendary career with the Montreal Canadiens came to a shockingly early end two months into the 1984-85 season. Official NHL documents from Flower's last game with the Canadiens as well as the game in which he scored his last goal as a Hab are featured in this nice big pile of stats that includes a thick stack of Lafleur's career stats compiled by an NHL statistician. Featured are Guy's November 24, 1984 Habs swan song against Detroit along with four home games, which include carbon copies of the score sheets showing his last two goals for the Canadiens. Also included are the carbon copies of the NHL official reports from Lafleur’s jersey retirement game against Buffalo on February 16, 1985, including the Score Sheet, Official Report of Match, Penalty Record and Official Statistics of Game;
Those same reports are included for Lafleur’s final game with the Canadiens against the Red Wings, as well as for four Montreal home games early in the 1984-85 season: October 15, 1984 vs. Philadelphia with Lafleur’s first goal of the season against the Flyers’ Pelle Lindbergh, October 20 vs. Minnesota, October 25 vs. Buffalo with Lafleur’s last Canadiens goal against the Sabres’ Robert Sauve, and November 1 vs. the New York Islanders. Photocopies of the Canadiens’ scoresheets for all five games are included;
A couple of vintage Canadian Press teletype accounts of Lafleur’s retirement are included with the stack of handwritten Lafleur career stats compiled by an NHL statistician that are also included.
