The Great One's legendary NHL career began at the old Chicago Stadium on October 10, 1979 when the Edmonton Oilers faced the Black Hawks to start the 1979-80 season. Offered is a historic game puck from that night which was originally from the collection of Black Hawks legend Mush March, who was invited to drop the puck for the opening faceoff of the game. Wayne Gretzky got his first NHL point that night with an assist when Kevin Lowe scored the Oilers' first goal 9:49 into the first period. Black Hawks puck with rubberized crest is mounted on an 8x6 wood plaque with "Puck Faced Off, Opening Game, Chicago Stadium, October 1979" engraved on a gold-colored plaque at the bottom. Comes with a signed LOA from Mush March's son, Harold March.
