Just how did Lord Stanley of Preston manage to keep his beard and moustache so neat and trim? A great barber no doubt, but a tool similar to this dandy would also be handy. An amazing find, that proudly shows off its age. Complete with an open-ended, heavy paper case, with the upper right hand corner peeling a touch, the shaft of the 3” blade bears the mark “Wade & Butcher, Sheffield.” The company made razors from 1818 - 1890. One side of the blade is embossed an image of Stanley , set between two banners above that read “LORD” and “STANLEY” and three banners below “GOVERNOR” “GENERAL” “OF CANADA” There are some nicks and rust, mainly on the upper portion. The housing has been worn to a smooth finish with one chip on the right hand side. This antique will give your mug an elegant edge and make keeping a playoff beard year round a viable idea!
