During the Nordiques' time in the WHA Garry Lariviere had an important playmaking role with the Quebec Nordiques. The clever rearguard remained with the Nordiques when they merged with the NHL in 1979-80 and was an excellent two-way player though the club failed to make the post-season. This Quebec Nordiques blue mesh jersey is from the team's first NHL season. The team crest in red and white vinyl remains fully intact on the blue mesh, as do the #5 on the back and both sleeves and each of the jersey's eight Fleur de Lys crests. The blue Sandow SK logo on the right rear hem exhibits no cracking and the individual screened white letters spelling out the Lariviere surname on a blue mesh nameplate are perfectly intact. A washed out laundry tag remains in the neck and a few unrepaired nicks and holes and stick marks offer evidence of this Nordiques jersey's game use. This rarely seen first-NHL season Quebec jersey remains in excellent condition overall. A really fantastic find!
