Historical Hockey Memorabilia Winter 2012
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/22/2012
Terrific souvenir from the 8-game series between the World Hockey Association's best players and those from the Soviet Union in 1974, this vintage Northland-made stick was used by none other than the Golden Jet, Bobby Hull. Factory stamping has "B. Hull" on the front of the shaft, just below a marker number "16", the number worn by Hull during the tournament. Further evidence pointing to the time of use comes in the form of 19 red marker signatures from Hull and his Team Canada bench mates, including those of Gordie Howe, Pat Stapleton, Marty Howe, Mark Howe, Frank Mahovlich and Gerry Cheevers. The sigs are dark and legible but a few show water damage. Black taping is intact at the handle but has been removed from the now-bare blade. Good game use throughout with no glaring damage and we do spot some black staining down low on the shaft.
