Historical Hockey Memorabilia Winter 2012

This thought-provoking ensemble of letters sent from then NHL president Clarence Campbell to Canadiens GMs Selke and Pollock are evidence that Maurice Richard's little brother Henri could have quite the temper too in the heat of the action! Seven letters spanning Dec. 30, 1960 to Feb. 16, 1965 inform that game records show that Henri Richard received, for the most part, misconduct penalties that call for automatic fines. Campbell asks that the amounts ($25, $50) be deducted from the player's salary and remitted to the league office. One document features a nice Campbell signature while the others are initialed. A note on Canadiens letterhead and a Richard ticket stub complete the lot.
