Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2011
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/21/2011
Striking ceramic tiles here are said to have been originally meant to be sold at NHL arenas but never officially hit the market, the thought being that licensing agreements were never reached. The 6” by 6” tiles all have “H.C. Gowan” printed beside the player’s image, while “Screenart Products Ltd – Made in Canada” appear on the cork backings. This all-Rangers lot features Hall-of-Famers Harvey, Howell, Bathgate and Ratelle, all in tiptop near mint condition, as are Cahan, Horvath, Hebenton and Langlois. Muzz Patrick’s tile has “Made in Canada” stamped within a maple leaf on the back. A Worsley, Balon and duplicate Langlois are without cork backs, while another Gumper (tiny chip), Hadfield (surface scratches) and second Horvath (scuffed) complete the desirable lot. All but one lay in an original box half.
