Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2011
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/21/2011
The one and only Maurice “Rocket” Richard was still going strong when this Parkhurst card was released, its back referring to Richard as “the greatest scorer in the history of the NHL,” and mentioning that his total of 384 goals “will probably never be beaten.” The Rocket added 38 more in ’54-55 but lost the scoring title to Bernie Geoffrion by one point after being suspended late in the season. Graded NM 7 by the KSA company, card #7 here has visible light corner wear but only very subtle toning, so common with this Parkhurst issue.
