Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2011
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/21/2011
The rookie cards of the most prolific father and son scoring combination the game of hockey has ever seen includes a tantalizing example of the “old man’s” first cardboard appearance. Displaying uncommon and highly-desirable near-perfect side-to-side centering, Bobby Hull’s 1958-59 Topps issue, the last in the 66-card issue, has been deemed worthy of NM+ 7.5 status by KSA. The slightest of dings on the lower right corner is what appears to have been what denied this shocker an even higher grade. Meanwhile, Brett Hull’s ’88-89 Topps rookie, (hey, look at that, it’s #66 too!), has been slabbed NMM 8. What a joy the two superstars were to behold on a sheet of ice and what joy you’ll feel when you secure this lot.
