Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2011

A perennial all-star who played in 13 consecutive NHL All-Star Games, Maurice Richard was a 2nd Team All-Star selection in 1953-54 and that’s how he made it into the star-in-the-background subset of Parkhurst’s ’54-55 card issue. The Rocket led the league with 37 goals but his 67 points placed him second behind his long-time rival Gordie Howe, who took the Art Ross race with 81. Card #7 here also ranks right up there, with our eyes seeing it as near mint, if not a tad higher. We have a hard time spotting any flaws, other than the less-than-perfect side-to-side centering, with slight, almost standard toning to also mention. Like Maurice, formidable!
