Commissioned by the University of Toronto Blues after winning the Yates Cup in1914, the craftsmanship within this 25” x 31” framed piece is outstanding. Individually applied photos accompany handwritten text. Two prominent sporting figures are shown. Hugh Galls is one of Canada’s all-time football greats. An exceptional kicker, he played in the 1913 Grey Cup with the Hamilton Tigers, who were routed 44-2 by the Parkdale Canoe Club. Gall provided the two points. Harry Westerby coached the Blues to the 1915 Senior Intercollegiate Championship before a lengthy career as a trainer with the New York Rangers. The Blues challenged the Toronto Argonauts in the 6th Grey Cup played on December 5, 1914 at Varsity Stadium at Toronto and lost 4 to 2. Please see website for complete photo list.
