Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2011
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/21/2011
Flipping through this complete 34-page Louisville Colonels Little World Series program conjures up images of Jackie Robinson. While other cities padlocked stadiums or refused to let the Royals play on their turf with Robinson on the roster, Montreal embraced him during his one-season stay in 1946. The front of the program is in good overall condition, with just the middle page loose and “1946” written on cover in pen. The lower middle page dates it as Game 1. Includes 14 newspaper pages from Sept & Oct 1946 talking about the Royals and the Little World Series (in French) plus 2 new prints of photos of Robinson with the Royals.
