Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2011
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/21/2011
Sensational triple-fold pamphlet-like affair is a schedule for events held during Montreal’s famous Winter Carnival of 1887. The official “programme” included hockey matches involving teams listed in the title here and which formed, just a couple of months prior, (Dec. 8, 1886), hockey’s first organized league, the CAHA, also known as the Dominion Hockey League. It was at the Winter Carnival’s hockey tournament two years later that Lord Stanley witnessed his first hockey match! With wonderful color graphics, the piece also lists Concord (New Hamphire) Railroad ticket prices to Montreal and measures 3-1/2” by 8-1/4” when folded. In miraculous EX condition.
