Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2011
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/21/2011
The only player ever to win Stanley Cups with both Wayne Gretzky and Mario Lemieux, legendary defenseman Paul Coffey used this sensational Sher-Wood 5030 Feather-Lite wood stick. Coffey broke Bobby Orr’s single-season record for goals by a defenseman with 48 tallies in 1985-86, a mind-boggling mark that should stand for the foreseeable future. Coffey’s factory stamped name is on the front of the shaft of his 1980s Edmonton Oilers gamer which exhibits excellent battle wear. Lengthy handle features black tape with a small knob on the butt end. Coffey’s original white tape job also remains on the blade. The stick has a crack and a little piece of wood missing along the shaft otherwise in excellent condition.
