Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2011
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/21/2011
Garry Unger, Craig MacTavish, Esa Tikkanen and Jason Arnott are all featured in this quartet of Edmonton Oilers game-used sticks. Unger’s Oilers Sher-Wood PMP 5030 has “Unger 77” stamped on the front of the shaft and “22 Dec. 1982” factory date stamp on the back. It retains the former NHL ironman’s black tape job on the knob and white tape on the toe of the blade. Arnott signed in black marker across his white tape job on the blade of his Oilers rookie-era Koho gamer, which also retains his white tape knob. “C. MacTavish” is stamped on the shaft of his Oilers Hespeler gamer from the early 1990s which has his black tape jobs on the blade and handle. Tikkanen’s Oilers Koho gamer displays his distinctively-shaved handle wrapped with well-worn blue grip tape. Tikkanen’s black tape job remains on the blade, which has a chip on the top edge and another on the bottom edge of the toe. All four gamers are otherwise solid and crack-free.
