Chris Chelios is a lock to join fellow defensemen Borje Salming and Larry Murphy in the Hockey Hall of Fame! Game-used sticks wielded by each of this trio of great blueliners are featured here. Chelly signed the now-bare blade of his Black Hawks 1990s Sher-Wood gamer. Chelios’ tape job was removed from the blade, which has a crack in the middle of the bottom edge that does not diminish its display and a small chip at the toe. His white tape knob remains and “Chelios” is stamped on the shaft of this gamer which has had lots of its black paint chipped off from game use. Salming’s Sher-Wood gamer dates from 1989-90, when he wound up his HOF career with Detroit. Salming’s distinctive red tape jobs remain on the knob and along the middle of the shaft. “Salming” is stamped on this gamer and the legendary Swede’s black tape job remains on the blade, which is worn through along the bottom revealing a rough edge. Murphy signed in black marker on the front of the heel of his Koho game-used stick. This wood gamer from his days with the Pittsburgh Penguins retains his black tape job on the blade and his number “55” is written in black marker below his black tape knob, which is covered with white tape. Wonderful collection of three gamers from a superb trio of defensemen!
