Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2011
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/21/2011
Striking vintage dureen creation is a Buffalo Bisons jersey worn by the AHL hockey team circa 1969 just before the NHL’s Sabres came along. This #20 gamer with Dick Fisher Sporting Goods tagging in the neck displays a wondrous white team crest on the front. Featuring elaborate red, white and silver thread stitching, the Bisons’ bottle cap logo stems from the team owner’s local Pepsi franchise and the “Buffalo” scripting is evoked in a third jersey adopted by the Sabres for their 40th anniversary season in 2010-11. Curiously, the bands around the waist are heat-screened red and blue vinyl while those on the sleeves are part of the knit fabric. Numbers on the back and both sleeves are sewn-on tackle twill. Nice game use to report on this distinctive minor-league gamer that immediately preceded Buffalo’s leap to the bigs!
