Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2011
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/21/2011
This fabulous early 1960s durene jersey from the Providence Reds of the American Hockey League was worn by hockey Hall-of-Famer Fernie Flaman. A longtime Boston Bruins regular with 910 career NHL games to his credit, Flaman closed out a stellar career with three seasons down in the AHL with the Reds over the period of 1961 through 1964. The brilliant red and white uniform sports the two-tone tackle twill “REDS” cascading down the front and the classic tie-neck collar still has the original lace. One arm stripe displays a felt circle patch embroider with the team's intimidating flying rooster design and the opposite arm stripe has a double-layer number "3". Obvious game wear includes a handful of stick marks and a four-inch material run at each elbow. A solitary neck tag folds out to reveal the embroidered size designation "46" in red. With LOA. A fine example worn by a top talent. Old time hockey!
