This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/21/2011
Blackhawks great Stan Mikita’s vintage Northland game-used stick saw active duty during the 1972 Canada-Russia series. This Team Canada 1972 beauty has been preserved in great condition and retains Mikita’s original tape jobs on the knob and blade. The legendary centre’s number “21” is written in black marker below the knob of this Northland Custom Pro gamer with “Mikita” stamped in the middle of the shaft. Fascinating and highly desirable Team Canada 1972 game-used sticks were collected direct from the stick rack immediately after the powerhouse team of NHL greats played the last of their four games on home soil in Vancouver. These remarkable and historic Summit Series game-used hockey sticks were obtained by someone associated with Team Canada 1972 after the game at Pacific Coliseum on September 8th. This is a truly rare and unique opportunity to bid on Team Canada 1972 hockey memorabilia that saw active duty during the Summit Series.
