John Tavares was so good in junior, the OHL labelled him an ``exceptional player, allowing the Oshawa Generals to draft him at only 14 years of age in 2005. The move paid off. Tavares was OHL Rookie of the Year in 2006 and CHL Player of the Year in 2007. John Tavares is one of the few who can lay claim to breaking a Wayne Gretzky record. In 2007, he surpassed The Great One`s record for goals in an OHL season. Now well established as part of a young New York Islanders team, Tavares will be entertaining hockey fans for many years. He has signed an Oshawa Generals jersey, a Reebok product, new with tags and with the company tag declaring ``Official Jersey of the CHL. `` This jersey has shoulder patches marking the 70th anniversary of the Oshawa Generals in 2007. The crest, shoulder patches, numbers and letters are all sewn on to this jersey which features retro lacing at the neck.
