Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2011
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/21/2011
It was out of the old and into the new for the New York Rangers during the 1967-68 season as the Blueshirts played their last game at the “old” Madison Square Garden and moved into the “new” MSG. Sunday, February 11, 1968 was the date of old arena’s swan song and Gordie Howe and the Red Wings were the opposition. This 56-page program is crease-free, whole and intact, with no writing other than a red marker signature at the top of the front cover. Rangers programs from the 1955-56 season come with their team roster inserts with Hall and Howe in the Red Wings’ October 26, 1955 lineup vs. the Rangers, and Sawchuk in the Bruins’ February 19, 1956 lineup. The Detroit/NYR program has a vertical crease where it was folded in the middle. A crease-free 8x10 photo of the 1965-66 Rangers completes this lot.
