Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2011
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/21/2011
The Maple Leafs and old Maroons are featured in this lot of three rare 1930s and 1940s team pictures. The 1944-45 Cup champion Maple Leafs framed Bee Hive is seldom offered, a must for serious Leafs team photo collectors. This treasure is mounted in a 9 3/4” by 12 3/4” black wood frame with the paper-stock photo displayed on black construction paper-like backing trim. Displays nicely despite creasing, including a diagonal one on the bottom left and crumples from goalie McCool through the right side of the front row. British Consols 6x9 team photos include a whole and lightly-creased 1932-33 Maroons example and a less-than-perfect 1933-34 Leafs with a portion of the top edge missing, a tear on the left edge and paper and glue remnants on the reverse where it was removed from an album.
