Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2011
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/21/2011
The January 19, 1935 game program between the Bruins and the Canadiens features Eddie Shore on its cover. Better yet, four of the Canadiens have neatly autographed the cover around Shore's image in vintage fountain pen. They include two of Montreal's greatest stars of the era - Aurele Joliat and his line-mate Pit Lepine. Also signing the cover were two of the earliest American-born players to appear in the NHL - Leroy Goldsworthy and Roger Jenkins. Lepine, Joliat and Goldsworthy finished 1-2-3 in scoring for Montreal in 1934-35, and on this night all contributed towards a 4-1 Canadiens victory. The program is complete and in sharp EX/NM condition, aside for a light vertical fold line throughout, while the autographs remain bold and beautiful.
