Offered here is a truly unique opportunity to acquire the original “Luc” painting by artist Stephen Holland. From Luc Robitaille’s personal collection, this magnificent acrylic-on-wood portrait is signed on the reverse by the Hall of Fame left winger and the artist, who has also signed on the bottom left of the front of this superb 31 3/4" x 46” painting. One of the nation's foremost contemporary sport artists, Holland was inspired by images in boxing magazines which became his initial subjects. There he saw the male form in all its power and glory, expressed as contemporary gladiators. Capturing the fury, emotion and drama of sports is what Stephen Holland does best. Being trained in fine art, he brings classical form to this universal subject. His paintings, lithographs and serigraphs are in private and corporate collections around the world, including the Staples Center in downtown Los Angeles. His traditional education in art, years of experience and his love of sports made Holland an obvious choice for the 1993 Sport Artist of the Year Award. His work is found in the collections of celebrities, athletes, and private collectors around the globe. We are proud to offer this scarce and very valuable Stephen Holland original artwork, a massive hand-painted masterpiece depicting Lucky Luc with his ready smile displayed as he raises his arms to celebrate yet another goal for his beloved Los Angeles Kings. Luc Robitaille’s signed letter of authenticity accompanies this one-of-a-kind original painting by Stephen Holland.
