Mike Gartner never failed to answer the call to wear his country's uniform in international play. Mike participated in four World Championships and two Canada Cup tournaments during his career including the thrilling 1984 Canada Cup tournament. Mike Gartner wore this heavy, red knit uniform during the 1984 Canada Cup as a member of the talented Team Canada roster. Gretzky, Messier, Bossy, Lowe, Anderson, Stastny, Coffey and Bourque all rubbed elbows with Mike on that Team Canada Bench. Tagged in the collar by CCM/Maska with a special Canada Cup '84 tag and a born-on label reading "84 07". The CCM patch sits on the outer rear hem and a canvas loop fight strap can be found in the tail. Mike's tackle twill number "17" rests on the back and his surname crosses a knit plate. Nice game wear includes dozens of stick marks and scuffs on the sleeves and lower front with a handful of smaller unrepaired holes around the elbows. This one has been shortened at the hem, to Gartner's specs, and this customization shows up in a great photo of the team lined up along the blue line for a pre-game ceremony. Marks on the crest are also visible and we can say that we have conclusively matched this jersey! A perfect example from the tourney worn by a member of the 500-goal club and hockey's Hall of Fame! Will come with a letter of authenticity and a copy of the photo match.
