Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction March 2010

Dazzling white gold and diamond creation by Intergold commemorates the Detroit Red Wings' 2008 Stanley Cup title. Nicklas Lidstrom became the first European-trained captain to raise the Cup after the Wings, led by Conn Smythe winner Henrik Zetterberg and the stellar goaltending of Chris Osgood, delayed Pittsburgh's title aspirations to claim their fourth championship since 1997. A hoard of shimmering stones is set on the tableau, both within a raised white gold outline of the Cup and surrounding it in two levels. "Stanley Cup Champions" surrounds the face in raised letters and white gold Red Wings logo features red enamel detail on the bottom of the tableau. This size 10 ring was presented to Red Wings senior director Jennifer Tracey, whose name appears in relief on the left shank above "Red Wings", the NHL shield, and "DIR". The right shank of this majestic white gold ring features the bowls of 11 Stanley Cups in raised gold, with a full modern full barrel Cup in the middle with "08" on it representing the Red Wings' latest addition to their collection in the wake of their six-game win over the young Penguins in the 2008 final. "FAMILY" is stamped within the band along with "Intergold 10K". The ring comes with its original mahogany box from Intergold, featuring "2008 Stanley Cup Champions, Detroit Red Wings" in frosted lettering along with the NHL shield and the Red Wings' logo on the hinged box's glass window top. A notarized letter from Jennifer Tracy accompanies this remarkable Red Wings Stanley Cup championship ring.
