This is the style of game used bat Hall of Famer Willie Stargell used when he was hitting moonshot home runs against the Montreal Expos during the 1970s. From launching drives into the municipal swimming pool beyond the right field fence at Jarry Park to his prodigious 1977 blast off Wayne Twitchell into the far reaches of the middle deck of spacious Olympic Stadium, the Pittsburgh Pirates slugger held Expos fans, not to mention the team's pitching staff, in rapt attention whenever he strode to the plate. With his trademark windmill pump in the batter's box while waiting on the next offering, Stargell handled this heavy solid ash bat as if he was twirling a baton. Stargell's facsimile "Wilver Stargell" signature is engraved between "Genuine" and "Louisville Slugger" on the barrel of the bat that features "M110" stamped on the bottom of the knob.[red] Addendum; it was brought to our attention that Willie Stargell would only have ordered this model of bat, the M110, until 1963. The Louisville engraved logo on the middle of the bat dates from 1964 onward so this bat may have been a college order pro model bat.[/red]
