The one and only Peter Puck is featured in five of the six original animation cells offered here. The hockey instruction cartoon character created in the 1970s by Hanna-Barbera sports a variety of expressions wherever he appears in this collection, from concern as he’s being stickhandled up the ice, through joy as he goes flying into the net for a goal, and on to relaxed satisfaction as he rests comfortably in a goalie’s glove. A threatening puck – surely not Peter!- is pictured diving into the crowd in the other cell. The 9 ½” square white cardboard backing on all six cells has an approximately one-inch wide frame taped above a painted clear plastic animation panel that is placed over a colored background drawing, with all the elements taped in place along the top edge. A fascinating look behind the scenes at the creation one of the most popular figures in the history of the game.
